Meet Bryan Turner
Owner • Engineer • Musician
I’m Bryan Turner — a musician first, recording engineer second, and studio owner by necessity.
I’ve spent decades on both sides of the microphone: performing, producing, arranging, and recording acoustic music with real people playing real instruments.
I believe in great takes, honest performances, and a relaxed studio environment where musicians can do their best work.
How Pinnacle Started
Pinnacle Recording Studio is the result of a lifelong dedication to acoustic and roots-based music, built on experience, mentorship, and a deep respect for the craft and Named after the Pinnacle Mountain Boys who my uncle Buster Turner was a founding member of..
Before founding Pinnacle Recording Studio, Bryan Turner spent several years working alongside the late Steve Gulley at Curve Studio. During that time, Bryan honed his skills in recording, production, and studio workflow while being immersed in the traditions of bluegrass and acoustic music. Working closely with Steve provided not only hands-on studio experience, but also invaluable lessons in musicianship, professionalism, and preserving the authentic sound of the music.
Following Steve Gulley’s passing, Bryan took the knowledge, standards, and passion developed at Curve Studio and carried them forward into the creation of Pinnacle Recording Studio in LaFollette, Tennessee. Today, Pinnacle continues that legacy by focusing on honest, high-quality recordings that respect the artist, the song, and the tradition.
After seeing too many artists leave studios with tracks that sounded polished but lifeless, I decided to build a space focused on performance, tone, and musical integrity.
